I was like you at one point in time, I wanted a surround sound system for my home, but I didn’t know where the hell to begin. After that day I swore to myself that I was going to buy a surround sound system.
The first and most obvious thing was for me to ask me friend about it. I did, and he said he didn’t know anything about surround sound. He said he went in the electronics store, and went over to the home audio section. He told the associate he had $8,000 to spend on a home theater system, and he came home with what we just saw the movie on.
I was shocked to say the least!!
I simply did not have $8,000 to invest in a home theater system. I was down and out to say the least. Every time I tried to watch TV at my house, I was simply disappointed having experienced a true Audio/Visual presentation at my buddies.
I wrongly assumed that in order to get high quality sound, I would have to invest several thousand dollars into equipment. Until this one day..
THAT DAY, I MEET A YOUNG MAN WHO WOULD CHANGE MY BELIEFS ABOUT ELECTRONICS FOREVER!!
I had got in the habit of making weekly trips to local electronics stores. I loved to walk in and sit in and experience surround sound on their demo systems they had set up. I would only get to sit down for a few minutes, because I didn’t want to look to weird.
This particular day started like any other, I entered the electronics store, and immediately made a beeline to the home audio section. I was very pleased to see they were actually showing one of my favorite movies on the television.
I sat down and relaxed on the comfy demo sofa, and enjoyed the audio that was being feed to me by the expensive demo system.
This lasted for about 2 minutes, and this goofy looking young guy came and sat down on the sofa next to me. He started talking to me about the movie that was showing at first. I was quite impressed at his knowledge about the history behind the movie. So I asked him did he know anything about surround sound systems.
HIS FACE LITERALLY LIT UP WITH GLEE!!
He informed me that he used to be an employee at another major electronics store chain. He told me that he worked the Home Audio section at his store for nearly two and half years. If anyone knew anything about surround sound systems it was this guy!
So I began to relate my experience that I had over my buddies house. This guy told me that I was basically preaching to the choir. We sat and talked for nearly an hour and a half about surround sound systems.
AFTER I WAS EDUCATED BY THIS GUY, I BOUGHT MY FIRST SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM A WEEK LATER. USING HIS TIPS AND TRICKS I ENDED UP SAVING NEARLY $300!!!
I couldn’t believe it! As I walked out the store with a box weighing down my cart. I felt as though so kind of mistake had been made. Some type of clerical error on the part of the cashier. But it was not.
The alarms didn’t go off, and I gleefully walked to my car with my new components!! Once I got home, I rang my new surround sound expert. He came over my house, and after a few beers we installed my new system.
